SunChaser Challenge

Press Release / 18.02.2010
The Sunchaser Challenge takes part across the 4 time zones of the United States from sunrise to sunset, you can have a fun-filled day or a test yourself themselves to your limits. “It’s as tough as you want to make it“!

Using basic navigation skills, the aim of the Sunchaser Challenge (for both teams and individuals) is to be the first to 'rescue' 50 of the U.S.A's endangered animals from a series of checkpoints, between sunrise and sunset. Symbols of the animals will be hidden at the checkpoints in different "activity" zones, to include running, mountain biking, road cycling and kayaking. Getting through each stage to "rescue" the animals located in it will give you the chance to try out different athletic disciplines. If you're taking part in a team different members can opt to do certain stages, like a relay. This means teams can share the load during the day - and rest up - and decide who is best equipped for each part of the event.

Teams will work in pairs for each separate stage with only one pair on the course at any one time. Each team member must compete in at least two stages. There will be between 7 and 10 stages at each event. Each stage will range in time from 1 hour to 3 hours at the most.

Solo entrants must compete alone from sunrise to sunset in all of the designated stages.
Push yourself to the max and raise money to help protect endangered species – don’t let the sun go down on them forever. Get your free charity place and details of prizes at www.sunchaserchallenge.com
