Port Stephen’s natural environment provide the perfect setting to play: swimming and paddling in crystal-clear waters, running and mountain biking along magnificent beaches and bush walking in pristine National Parks. Lucky teams might catch sight of a dolphin or a koala as kookaburras and cicadas compete for the loudest critter award! At just 2 ½ hours drive North of Sydney, this little paradise is closer than most would think. Teams can choose to make a weekend away with their families, or just rock up on the day and be back in time for a party in the city! The event hub is located at Fingal Bay Oval. The oval will be a hive of activity as this is where most of the events will be based out of, including the novice briefing, registration, event finish and the award ceremony. All are welcome whether you are participating, helping out on the day or just seeing what all the fuss is about! Kids as young as 5 have taken part with their parents, as well as school teams competing for the School Challenge, gym groups testing their new-found fitness in the outdoors, work mates in it to win the Corporate Cup and Monday morning bragging rights, new comers just giving adventure racing a go by entering the shorter Novice Course or seasoned orienteers hoping to qualify for the Advanced Course with its secret bonus leg! Whatever the reason for entering a Paddy Pallin Adventure Race, there will be smiles at the end of the event!
