The Return of the D.A.R.E - 2nd October 2010
Press Release / 02.06.2010
The ‘Dynamic Adventure Racing Epic’, better known as the DARE, is the 12 hour, multi-discipline, stage race from Dynamic Adventure. After much speculation we are pleased to announce that the DARE will return this year, but we’ve moved the date to early October to give you something to look forward to after the long, hot summer that we’re promised. The location is the Forest of Dean, an old stomping ground for the Ace Race 2 day events that we all fondly remember and a great location for an adventure, with some really interesting and varied terrain. Best of all, it s within easy reach from most parts of the country! We’re very pleased to confirm that our course planner this year will be Tom Gibbs, current Adventure Racing World Champion, who uses the area as his play ground. Tom has promised a great course, taking competitors to the best parts of the forest, down some beautiful sections of river and into the surrounding countryside. Unfortunately Tom won’t be able to join us on the day as he will be defending his world title with the rest of the Helly Hansen Prunesco team. We wish them all the very best and hope that the title stays with the UK for another year.
The details of the disciplines are still being finalised, and more information will be released in due course, but be aware that entries are restricted to 20 pairs only!
If it’s anything like previous years, we expect them to be snapped up very quickly.
Entries open on the 12th June at 10:00 am and full details of how to enter can be found at www.dynamicadventureracing.co.uk/endurance/dare.php
Entries will be £160 per pair and disciplines will include running, mountain biking, canoeing, navigation plus a few other special stages.
