Polaris Events Head North into new Domain
Rob Howard / 30.09.2004
For the first time in 9 years (at last would say the Queenslanders and North of Sydney residents) the 2005 Nalgene Polaris Challenge will head to northern parts. One of Australia\'s most challenging and fun mountain bike events will take place \'Approx 5 hours from Sydney and 6 hours from Brisbane\' on 12/13 March 2005. As always the detailed event area is not released to participants until 2 weeks before the event. The event also has a new headline sponsor in Nalgene Hydration products, manufacturers of hydration packs, bladders and bottles. To celebrate this partnership, Outdoor Agencies, the Nalgene distributor will provide each entrant with a 2.0Litre Nalgene TPE Bladder worth $55.
Also heading north is the 2004 Paddle Polaris, which takes place on 4/5 December 2004. The 3rd running of this new style of kayaking event, combining teamwork, navigation, planning and camping, will be held on a large body of water \'Approx 3 hours north of Sydney\'.
The urban Polaris will stay in Canberra, the best cycling city in Australia, for the third year running and this takes place on Sunday November 14 2004. This one day mountain bike event combines riding the streets, parks, forest trails around the nation’s capital.
Both the Urban Polaris and Polaris Challenge are qualifying events for the 2004/2005 Strong Butt League of mountain bike endurance events and entries for all 3 events are now open.
Pick up an entry form in your local bike, outdoor or paddle store or enter online on www.wildhorizons.com.au, which is the new domain name for all Polaris events. Bookmark it now!
