Best of British Joins World Series

A new race has been launched on the British calendar and the world stage.The first Wilderness ARC will take place in Scotland between August 22-26th and will be next year’s British Championship and joins the AR World Series, offering teams qualification options for the World Championship final in 2005.
The race has an organising team which combines the skills of the most experienced and innovative race and course planners in British racing. It\'s being organised by ACE Races, the UK’s longest established and most successful adventure racing company, which has a reputation for unrivalled, slick organisation.
Race Director Phil Humphreys said, “Teams have been competing in two day ACE Races for 7 year’s now, and more recently the 30 hour winter event, the ACE XXX. Now British teams can use that experience and test themselves in a multi-day, expedition race, against international competition, with the British championship at stake. It will be the pinnacle of British adventure racing. â€
He’s joined on the organising team by Jim Mee and Gary Tompsett, who organised the Red Bull Northern Exposure winter race in 2002 and created the Rat Race phenomenon in 2004. Jim staged many extreme sports events when he worked for Red Bull and now does so through his own company, Detail Events, and Gary is a top class competitor, and has previously designed courses for Northern Exposure, Adrenalin Rush and the Hebridean Challenge in Scotland.
