Former Olympic swimmer Michael Klim, ex Hawks skipper Richie Vandenberg and Essendon’s Jason Johnson are amongst a group of high profile Victorian’s who are involved in the Marysville to Melbourne Multisport Challenge, an epic 155km one-day event that includes trail running, cycling and kayak paddling. The race date is April 10th, 2011 but the three are involved in a media push over the next week to raise awareness around this unique and exciting event.

The Marysville to Melbourne Multisport Challenge starts at Marysville and traverses some of Victoria’s most spectacular scenery including the areas worst affected by the 2009 Black Saturday bushfires with the finish in the heart of Melbourne’s Docklands at Yarra’s Edge. The race is split into 6 parts with 2 trail runs, 2 road rides and 2 kayak paddles making up the 155km through St Andrews and Kinglake. Competitors can race as a relay team doing one or more legs each or can take on the massive task of doing it solo.
