New Release/Rob Howard / 12.01.2011
The first edition of the new APEX Race, (Alpine Expedition Race) is taking place in the heart of the Swiss Alps between May 24-29th 2011 and the race is already off to a flying start. During the first twelve hours after the opening of race registration, 17 teams of 4 and competitors from 12 different countries have already registered for the race. The APEX Race is also proudly announcing that, for the first time in AR World Series history, paragliding will be a part of the race.
Paragliding, together with both rafting and canyoning, are some of the exciting adventure activities that await the teams. (All adventure activities are performed together with professional guides from Outdoor Interlaken.)
The first twenty teams to register for the race are receiving free accomodation provided by the organization and all teams coming from outside of Europe are getting a good discount on the entry fee. As of now, members of the media can also sign up for an official accreditation, which will give them very good on-site support from the organization.
"Interest in the race and the accommodation package has the race filling up quickly," says race director Staffan Källbäck, "Teams are eager to claim their spot in Switzerland's largest adventure race in a decade!"
