Thule Adventure Team for 2011
At the recent ISPO Outdoor Fair in Munich, Thule announced the new line up for their AR team for 2011, with a bigger squad. Richard and Elina Ussher have now left the team which has been joined by the equally experienced French pairing of Jacky Boisset and Mimi Guillot, along with Swedish racers Per Vestling and Andreas Svanebo. Their press release reads as follows;<br /><br>The Thule Adventure Team, brought together by Thule, aim to challenge the very best in some of the toughest, most extreme adventure races and multisport competitions in the world. After a successful first year in 2010, the team is now getting organized and set up for a new season starting with the Huairsinchi race in Fuerza del Viento, Equador, South America, in March. The team is extended from four to six members, of which four are totally new to the team.<br /><br />Going into the 2011 season, Martin Flinta, captain of the Thule Adventure Team can look back on a successful first year. First place Abu Dhabi Adventure (Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates), Coast to Coast (New Zealand), Scandinavian Championship/Åre Extreme Challenge (Åre, Sweden) are just a few of the successes that the team has achieved.<br /><br />“It has been a very good first year with the Thule Adventure Team†says Martin Flinta. “Going into 2011 we can not only look back on some good results, but also on some good learning’s on how we can achieve even better results. We will also make some changes to the team that we believe we will benefit from†ends Martin.<br /><br />The Thule Adventure Team will consist of:<br /><br /><b>Martin Flinta</b>, 37 years, Team Captain, from Mölndal, Sweden<br /><br /><b>Eva Nyström</b>, 33 years, Team Organizer, from Mölndal, Sweden<br /><br /><b>Jacky Boisset</b>, 30 years from Font-Romeu, France<br /><br /><b>Myriam “Mimi†Guillot</b>, 31 years from Font-Romeu, France<br /><br /><b>Andreas Svanebo</b>, 27 years from Sundsvall, Sweden<br /><br /><b>Per Vestling</b>, 38 years from Falun, Sweden<br /><br /><br />“We are proud of the successes that our team had during its first year as a dedicated Thule Team says Per-Axel Larsson, VP Marketing Thule business area vehicle solutions. “We have been very much involved in the changes that are now being made and we do believe these are the right ones to really make the team become ‘the’ dominant player at the multisport arena in 2011†ends Per-Axel.<br /><br />The first test for the team will be the multisport race in Huairsinchi, Equador, the 55th to 07th of March 2011.
