Get Lost!! Running, Racing to host the U.S. Rogaine Championships

Press Release / 15.07.2011
Need an adventure in November? How about getting lost at the largest state park in northern California! Tens of thousands of acres of beautiful backcountry: oak forest, pine forest, grasslands, and chaparral. Trails: some major, some less so. Prominent peaks and long, meandering valleys. Throw in roughly 70 checkpoints and you have a sweet venue for an excellent rogaine. Get Lost!! Running, Racing has been selected as the 2011 U.S. Rogaine Championships host. Join us at Henry W. Coe State Park on November 5 and 6 for the 24 hour championship, an 8 hour intermediate race, or a 4 hour short course!

A rogaine is a long-distance cross-country navigation race for teams traveling on foot using a map and a compass. The objective is to score points by finding checkpoints placed in the backcountry within a specified time frame.

Henry Coe is on the list of California parks slated for closure, so this may be one of the last organized events in the park for a while. The U.S. Rogaine Championships attract over a hundred elite cross-country navigators from most of the 50 states and Canada. Don't miss your chance to race on a new, accurate map just in the backyard of Silicon Valley!
