James Cracknell to compete in adidas TERREX Coast to Coast Adventure Race
Press Release / 29.07.2011
This August will see the return of the adidas TERREX Coast to Coast Adventure Race, one of the most accessible adventure races in Europe. Over 100 individuals will participate in the 200 mile race, either as a team or as solo racers and Olympian Gold medallist and now adventure racer, James Cracknell, will be joining the race this year as a member of Team adidas TERREX.The gruelling adidas TERREX Coast to Coast race takes place over four days (26-29th August) where competitors will find themselves mountain biking, kayaking, open water swimming, running and navigating from one side of the country to another!
The trail itself was originally devised by Alfred Wainwright and has been named amongst the world's best walks. Competitors will broadly follow the C2C walking route that passes through three contrasting national parks: the Lake District National Park, the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North York Moors National Park.
James Cracknell, who will compete in the adidas TERREX Coast to Coast race for the first time said: “Having seen last year’s adidas TERREX adventure race in The Lakes it is right up my street. Combining the disciplines of mountain biking together with kayaking and open water swimming not to mention running means it is going to be a full on endurance race. It is going to be great to be part of Team adidas TERREX and we will be challenging to win this year’s raceâ€.
The adidas TERREX range of clothing, footwear and accessories is designed for exactly the type of challenges that this gruelling four day race will throw at competitors.
