Olympus Mythical 100K Trail Race

Olympus Mythical Trail is a new ultra-trail race that is going to be organized at Mountain Olympus, Greece - the famous “Mountain of Gods”, on June 30th, 2012. The race applies to experienced athletes, because it requires advanced skills due to its high difficulty grade. The route is spread out over a 100Km and has a total of 6700 meters of elevation gain.

The trail passes through unique scenery that offers tremendous view of the whole mountain, but also constitutes a tough trial for mountain runners, with a variety of technical terrain. The race starts exactly at midnight from the archaeological site of Dion, thus increasing the emotional and physical difficulties. Registration will open on February 2012.

Creator and race director of the new event, is Lazaros Rigos, the founder of other similar races in Greece, such as “Olympus Marathon” and “Rodopi Ultra Trail 100M”.
