Champion System Forms Athletic Celebrity Team To Shine A Spotlight On Endurance Sports

Stars from the big and small screens are taking on demanding and different roles in 2012, but the challenge won't be acting, it will be running, cycling and triathlons as part of the new Athletic Celebrity Team.A.C.T. powered by Champion System is a collection of talented celebrities from film and television who will participate in a range of endurance sports from marathons and cycling races to triathlons and adventure racing in 2012 and beyond.
A.C.T., formed by technical apparel manufacturer Champion System, is made up of actors featured in, among others, "Franklin and Bash" "My Name is Earl", "The Brothers McMullen", as well as news anchors and a host of reality programs including "Survivor" and the "Amazing Race".
The A.C.T. powered by Champion System roster of stars includes:
Ethan Suplee, Maxine Bahns, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Chris Schauble, Ryan Sutter, Sarah Leshner, Terrence Gerchberg, Eliza Orlins, Stephen Fishbach, Charlie Herschel, Matt Lenahan, Steuart Martens, Nicole Delma, Mark Ytrruallde, Cristina Coria, Victor Jih, John Fincher, Jodi Wincheski, Kelly Crabb, Scott Herman, Dennis Frentsos, Marissa May,Tina and Kenny Green, Patrick House, Jonny Fairplay, Brendan Dovovan,Marcus Lehman, Gillian Larson and Ty Brown.
"To be on the Champion System celebrity team is such an honor," said Maxine Bahns, whose credits include "She's the One", "The Brothers McMullen", "CSI", and "The Mentalist" as well as completing the Ironman triathlon championship in 2001. "I hope to bring more awareness to triathlons because it's such an amazing sport for everyone at every level."
The star power that the A.C.T. celebrities generate will help motivate people to lead healthier lifestyles fostered by endurance sports as well as generate attention and support of philanthropic efforts. Not only will spectators be able to meet some of their favorite celebrities at various events, but participants will be able to compete alongside them.
Members of A.C.T. powered by Champion System will compete in the Revolution 3 24-hour adventure race as well as Rev3 triathlons; L'Etape duCalifornia at the Amgen Tour of California; and the Wildflower Triathlon.
In addition to actors, A.C.T. powered by Champion System members include individuals that fans of reality TV will surely recognize. Male and female veterans from "Survivor", the "Amazing Race", the "Bacherlorette" and "The Biggest Loser" are all on the team.
