Raid the North Returns to the Okanagan

Frontier Adventure Sports & Training (Frontier) is excited to celebrate its 15th year of wilderness adventure races with the return of its epic Raid the North Adventure Race – Canada’s ultimate adventure race – to the Okanagan this summer.
Silver Star Mountain Resort will host this 36-hour non-stop wilderness race from August 17 to 19. Raid the North takes four-person teams through a 150 km course of mountain biking, trail running, off-trail trekking, paddling and rappelling or other rope work. Teams navigate the unmarked race course using only a topographic map and compass and their wilderness travel skills.
Silver Star Mountain Resort, nestled in the Monashee Range just east of Vernon, BC, is hosting the event for the second time, following a very successful event in 2004. In its 15 year history, Raid the North has very rarely returned to a host site, which speaks to the quality and variety of wilderness terrain around the resort, and the fantastic hosts we have at Silver Star.

The race begins at 4am the morning of Saturday the 18th, and runs until 4pm on Sunday. Lead teams will finish in 26-28 hours, with other teams challenging the course non-stop up to 36 hours. The finish line will be located in the heart of the colourful heritage-feeling village at Silver Star.
In addition to Raid the North, Frontier will also be holding the Frontier Adventure Challenge – a 5-8 hour adventure race for those looking for a fun challenging day without the overnight element. This one-day event will take place Saturday, Aug 18th starting at 10:00am and will take three-person teams through a 40 km course of paddling, mountain biking and trekking. This race starts and finishes in the Silver Star village.

The first 15 teams to register for the Frontier Adventure Challenge will receive a 15% discount, while the first 15 teams to register for Raid the North will receive a $150 discount.
