International Nunavik Adventure Challenge

The very first International Nunavik Adventure Challenge scheduled to take place from March 25th to March 28th, 2012 in Kangiqsualujjuaq will be followed by several international media teams! CBC/Radio-Canada will be among them. They are sending a team to cover the race, which is a global project, in full. For the first time in North America, national television and radio stations will follow an adventure raid on a daily basis.

The event will also benefit from media coverage in Europe through the following television stations: Eurosport, TV8 Mont Blanc, Montagne +, Sport +, and SKY TV. Countless articles will appear in many newspapers throughout the world!

This event is an once-in-a-lifetime experience for endurance athletes and a tribute to the Inuit and their ancestors who have made this land their home for more than a thousand years. Teams of two from South Africa, Italy, France, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada will come to compete, not only to push their personal limits, but also to immerse themselves in the beautiful landscape and rich Inuit culture that Nunavik has to offer. With the towering Torngat Mountains serving as a backdrop, teams will test their skills at backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, winter-trail running, and mountaineering, ropes activities, snowboarding and orienteering. Competitors will also have to camp out on the tundra as a part of this exciting three-day adventure race designed to test the endurance of even the most intrepid explorer.  

The Nunavik Adventure Challenge International is a partnership involving Endurance Aventure, the Kativik Regional Government, Nunavik Parks, the Northern Village of Kangiqsualujjuaq, Rossignol, FCNQ and the Nunavik Tourism Association.
