Hardwood Hills in Barrie, Ontario will play host to Adventure Racing Canada\'s Winter Adventure Race and its MedWar North Winter Adventure Race on March 12, 2005. Registration is now open for both races, and race organisers promise \"lots of snow, milder temperatures and usually sunny days.\"The Winter Adventure race can be raced Solo or in a team of three (co-ed, male, female & masters). The race lasts from 4 to 6 hours, and should provide the same level of challenge, strategy and teamwork as summer adventure races, and just a bit more \"weather.\" Disciplines include snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and mountain biking, all on marked and un-marked trails.
Race details can be found at www.adventureracingcanada.com.

The MedWar North Winter Adventure Race, meanwhile, is a race for a more specialised racer:
MedWAR is short for Medical Wilderness Adventure Race, and it combines wilderness medical challenges with adventure racing.
It involves teams of three who must both race and complete \'medical\' tests throughout the course. The race covers less distance, and has limited navigation requirements.
This race is open to any combination of health care professionals (physicians, nurses, residents, Meds students, EMS, Firefighters, PT/OT, Ski Patrollers etc). There are no age or gender distinctions or divisions.
Registration for the MedWar North race is now open, and for more information or to register for the race, go to
