Killarney Adventure Race teams up with Helly Hansen

The Killarney Adventure Race today announced a three year partnership with top outdoor clothing brand Helly Hansen. The deal sees Scandinavian brand Helly Hansen take on title partnership of the event, which has become Ireland’s must-do adventure race, and was voted ‘Adventure Race of the Year 2011’ (Outsider). This is the first partnership of its kind that Helly Hansen has undertaken in Ireland, and is a big step for the brand and the event.
The Killarney Adventure Race takes place on Saturday 6th October and is a multi-sport event, comprising running, hiking, cycling and kayaking. There are three different route options, 67km, 57km, or 25km, to suit all levels, and people can enter in teams. The race takes place against the spectacular backdrops of Ireland’s highest mountain range the MacGillcuddy Reeks, and the route encompasses some of the most dramatic, breathtaking and remote scenery in the world, including the Gap of Dunloe, the Black Valley, ring of Kerry, Molls Gap, Torc waterfall, Lakes of Killarney, Devils punch bowl, Mangerton Mountain and Muckross House

In-store and on-line promotions will also be run, whilst there will be a joint push to bring in competitors from the UK.
Adventure racing is an increasingly popular sport worldwide, and combines pure adventure, pure outdoors and pure adrenalin. Routes tend to be a real test of endurance and mental strength for all levels of outdoor fitness enthusiast.
This event is organized by Elite Event Management and is supported by Fáilte Ireland. With expected participant levels of over 1,000 people it is guaranteed to be an epic adventure weekend in Ireland's Adventure Capital.
