Ecomotion/Pro returns to the AR World Series in 2013
News Release / 04.10.2012
The AR World Series has approved the return of Ecomotion Pro as a Qualifier of the series for 2013.
The Ecomotion Pro was recently purchased by the Guimarães siblings. One of their main goals was to bring back the international prestige to race and to consolidate it as one of the biggest and best international expedition races.
To start this process, the 2012 edition, under new management, was carried out with increased technical requirements and safety, as well as professionalism in its organization and conduct.
After being part of the Series from 2004 to 2009 and hosting the 2008 AR World Championship, the new owners of the Ecomotion Pro strove for the race’s return to the AR World Series and the international spotlight.
Each international Qualifier event in the AR World Series sets a unique course to test mixed teams of four, during up to 10 days of non-stop racing in the disciplines of trekking, mountain biking, kayaking, orienteering, ropes skills and more.
The winning team at Ecomotion/Pro 2013 is guaranteed a spot and a paid entry to the 2013 AR World Championship in Costa Rica. The second place and the first national team also receive guaranteed spots at the championship.
Ecomotion/Pro 2013 is scheduled for August. The race will be unsupported, teams having to be more self-sufficient and organized, with only their boxes with food and equipment at the transition areas. This is a major change on the traditional Brazilian scenario, and brings Ecomption Pro closer to the standard format of international Qualifiers.
