Absa Cape Epic Route Revealed
News Release / 01.11.2012
Before the 2012 race had even begun, there was speculation as to where 2013’s 10th edition of the event would be going. To commemorate its auspicious entry into double figures, many believed the race would return to the Garden Route. Others were convinced that George would host a race village. But all of these rumours have now been put to rest, much to founder Kevin Vermaak's relief, as the 2013 Absa Cape Epic Route Launch week wraps up.
The 2013 Absa Cape Epic will cover 698km with 15 650m of climbing, beginning with a new prologue route at Meerendal Wine Estate and ending with the Grand Finale at Lourensford. In the process, riders will pass through four stages held in two all-new locations, with all other locations having each hosted the event only once before over the past 9 years. Riders will also make their way to Lourensford using a completely new route - one with no compulsary portage. The 2013 Absa Cape Epic route is:
