The 5th edition of Tierra Viva Expedition Race will be at the end of March 2013! Again in Patagonia Argentina, one of the world’s most spectacular regions, with the majestic landscapes of the Andes with outstanding volcanoes, huge lakes and the lush Andean forests.
Tierra Viva is one of the few expedition races of the world that keeps the spirit of the legendary Eco Challenge and the Challenge of the Volcanoes, this new edition will remain in history for the spectacular tour of 500Km that teams will have to overcome and by the amazing landscapes that will discover.
Tierra Viva is the maximum cites in Argentina that an expedition racer can aspire , a race that every year surprises everyone by the tremendous course … this new edition will be the mother of all battles… from the Andes to the inhospitable Patagonian steppe !!

Tierra Viva Expedition Race is part of the global circuit ARWS (www.arworldseries) and is therefore not only hope to have the best teams in the world, but also the winner of the race will automatically qualify for the World Championships Costa Rica 2013!.
News for 2013
- Just be eligible to participate in the race only mixed teams of four people.
- There will be two categories: Pro and General . The course and the whole race will be the same for the two categories. There will be AR$ 100,000 in cash to be distributed among the top 3 in the PRO category.
- Each team will receive two kayaks Sit on Top.
- Only 35 teams will be selected according to their experience in racing over four days nonstop.
- The race will be in the same format as the previous year, i.e. a Central Camp where the teams will be at least four times to resupply.
- The race will have four or five sections, each section begins and ends in the Central Camp.
- Sections can be single sport, i.e. Trekking or combine two or more disciplines i.e. kayak + Mbike or MBike + trekking or trekking + Kayak + MBike.
- The race is without assistance. Planned assistance is prohibited.
- Teams can buy food in the towns through which they pass.
- Maps are delivered before each section.
- Teams can go through each PC in the order they want, so that each team can choose their own route and itinerary.
- There will be sections that should be made in the order indicated by the organization, but at other times the teams may choose between two or three sections and will make they want in the order they want according to their own strategy.
