24 Hour Open Adventure

17.02.2005
Entries are now open for the newest 24 hour adventure race on the UK calendar.

Open24 is a non-stop event including mountain biking, trekking and canoeing, located in one of the most dramatic areas of the country. The elusive location has yet to be released by Open Adventure other than to point interested racers to the north west of England.

The race takes place over the weekend of July 30/31st and is open to pairs only (male, female and mixed). It\'s an excellent opportunity for those preparing for the new UK expedition race - the Wilderness ARC. Like the ARC the race is unsupported, with the race organisers moving kit boxes and bikes around the course for the racers. Rope work and swimming are also included in list of disciplines.

Open24 will also have a variety of unknown disciplines that will be revealed along the way, adding to the fun, enjoyment and adventure of the event. The full course will be around 180km, the shortest distance will be 90km, and the entry fee is £180 per pair.

James Thurlow the race director commented; “The course is designed to provide an experience that will make the top racers grin but still enable mortals to still enjoy the fun bits.”
