Ever participated in an adventure race in the Balkans? XCo Adventure Cup is your chance to do it!

The outdoor competition will be held for its 4th time this year - on September 19 - 22, 2013. Each year it is held in a different region, so that participants face different landscape and different challenges. It could be a mountainous area, a river's valley, a cave in the high rocks or just a plain covered with mud after the heavy rain. Nothing can prepare you for the track and weather surprises in this race!

 

Organized by  'XCoClub' Extreme Sports Club, XCo Adventure Cup includes biking, trekking, running,  rock climbing, kayaking, swimming, cave exploring, rappelling, orienteering and the new one this year - archery. The race route is a minimal length of 200 km and is kept confidential until the start of the race as well as the checkpoints and route disciplines. Only the route location area is announced one month prior to the start.

 

In the last years, the race has been held in three different Bulgarian mountains - the tourist friendly Vitosha, the low but not well explored Verila and the high slopes of Rila, used in winter for skiing and alpine climbing. Three rivers including the great Danube were also among the challenges faced by participants - for kayaking, orienteering and trekking along. The landscape of Bulgaria offers opportunities for various outdoor activities and this race explores them all!

 

In XCo Adventure Cup athletes compete in teams of two, with no restrictions on sex, age or nationality. All teams must stay together during the whole race - team mates must keep a maximum distance of 100m between each other.  The largest number of teams possible is 40.

 

The race itself lasts for 3 days - September 20, 21 and 22nd. It includes mandatory camp for the racers. Medical, security, video and photo teams are ensured for the event in order to guarantee safe and professional performance of the competition.
