Entries are now open for the 2014 Saunders Lakeland Mountain Marathon, which will be held over the weekend of the 12th / 13th July 2014. This is a week later than our traditional date to avoid a clash with the Tour de France in Yorkshire.

 

The entry fee for the 2014 event has been kept the same as for 2013 at £44.00 per competitor; i.e. £88.00 for a team of 2. Commemorative tee shirts supplied with the logo, venue and year of the event and can be pre-ordered with your entry at the cost of £9 each. Tee shirts will not be posted out in advance but can be collected at race registration. If we have any spare tee shirts these will be made available at the event on a first-come / first-served basis.

 

Please read the details for each course carefully before entering, as there are some changes from last year.

 

Course Changes

For 2014 we will be removing the Scafell class due to the low number of entrants in the last few years. As a consequence we will make Bowfell a little longer, about 1 - 2km per day.

 

Instead of Scafell class we will have a second solo class called Pillar which is open to all male veterans (45 or over on Day 1 of the event) and all females (over 21 on Day 1). This course will be a similar format to the KLETS but will have an estimated winning time of 45 - 60 minutes shorter on each day compared to the current KLETS.

 

The following qualifications are necessary to enter:

 

Proven ability of at least 2 previous KLETS, Elite, A, Scafell or Bowfell in the last 5 years. 

Qualifying events are SLMM, LAMM, OMM and others that are deemed compatible by the Controller. 

Prizes will be awarded for first 3 veterans (of any sex), based on handicap, and first lady (not on handicap).

 

Drinks at Overnight Camp (Alcholic, soft, and milk)

We will use the pre order drink system again in 2014, with details, prices and dates being sent out on an email to all entrants in early June 2014.
