Youth Adventure Race World Cup
Youth Adventure Race World Cup in France This Summer
Rob Howard / 05.02.2014

The ‘Youth Adventure Race World Cup’ has been scheduled for this year for 28th July to 2nd August in the Hautes Alpes region of France. The event is for adolescents between 15 and 18 years old, competing in pairs from the same nation, and at the same time there is an ‘International Junior Event’ for children aged 7 to 18.
The events are organised by the A.I.R.J (Association International of Youth Adventure Races) which is composed of representatives from six founding nations: England - Canada - Denmark - Spain - France - Czech Republic , while Canada, Spain, and Denmark are finalists for the next World Cups. For this year the race organisation will be the French Association Céüze Sport Nature with the FRMN (French Federation of Outdoor Sports Adventures) involved in the smooth operation of the World Cup: choice of activities, defining regulations, rankings, etc.
The race will take place in 5 stage towns, and has the support of EU funding over 3 years, and the organisation is clearly looking to establish wider international recognition and also permanent training.
There are full details on the website at http://junioraventure.com/ , which is currently in both French and English and the entry information says there is assistance available with the cost of taking part.
