Kenda Are a New Transalp Enduro Sponsor

The Craft BIKE Transalp powered by Sigma keeps on growing as Kenda becomes a new main sponsor of the seven-day mountain bike stage race. The tyre specialist thus also takes over the title sponsorship for the new Enduro classification which was initiated for the 2014 edition of the Alps crossing classic.
The Kenda Enduro-Challenge tests the trail skills of every competitor on a sign-posted section of each stage with the fastest time winning the daily competition. In addition, the racer who leads the Enduro classification after seven days will also be awarded the Enduro Challenge Jersey.
Uwe Daniel, Head of Marketing Kenda Europe, underlines the importance of the new classification as another step in the branding policy of the main sponsor: “The Enduro-Challenge and our special tyres make a perfect match. This season, we started producing new products which are made for the riding fun in the Enduro segment.”
Transalp participants will have the chance to get the perfect tyre type for the this year's rails at the Kenda Expo truck. Racers will also benefit from the know how of the Taiwanese tyre specialist as World Cup tech Geri Schrempf will be at site to share his knowledge about the black rubber.
Mathias Ley, CEO of the Hamburg based organising event company Ley Events GmbH, says: “Being able to get Kenda, a well-respected brand in the mountain bike scene, aboard underlines the quality of our event. Both, pros as well as amateurs, will benefit from the Kenda knowledge. And this is what it's all about: to constantly improve our product for all participants.”

Registration for this year's Craft BIKE Transalp powered by Sigma, which will lead from July 20 thru 26, 2014, over 581.97 km and 19,227 metres in elevation gain from Oberammergau (GER) to Riva del Garda (ITA) is still open on online-registration.de.
About the Craft BIKE Transalp powered by Sigma
The Craft Bike Transalp powered by Sigma is the most famous stage race for mountain bike teams of two. From its first edition in 1998 until 2013, the routing led in eight stages from Germany across the main chain of the Alps to Italy.
In 2014, the event will feature seven stages taking place from July 20 thru 26. It kicks off in Oberammergau from where the field pedals via Imst, Nauders, Naturns, Sarnthein, Kaltern and Trento to Riva del Garda.
A maximum of 600 teams of two will cover a total distance of 581.97 kilometres peppered with 19,227 metres in elevation gain.
