News Release / 22.07.2014

Australia’s most respected mountain bike event will be back in 2015. The Giant Odyssey Mountain Bike Marathon will take over the trails of Forrest, Victoria, onSaturday 21 March 2015.
First held in 2007, the Giant Odyssey is regarded as one of Australia’s most challenging and rewarding mountain bike marathons thanks to the mix of hills provided by the Otway Ranges and the quality single track built around the mountain bike mecca of Forrest, Victoria.
The event offers three race options, the renowned 100km Giant Odyssey, the shorter yet still challenging 50km Giant Shorty, and the 15km Giant Pioneer designed for kids and new comers to the sport.
Each race includes some of the best mountain bike single track in Australia with pinching climbs, and smooth flowing and tight treed sections, which engross riders from start to finish.
The nation’s top mountain bike riders are expected to return for the event, along with 2,000 other keen mountain bikers. What’s so good about the event?
“I love coming to Forrest, the beautiful scenery, sweet trails, good people and it’s a well-run event,” said five-time Odyssey winner Chris Jongewaard.
The event starts and finishes at the Forrest Football Oval with riders passing through the event expo area several times; creating a great atmosphere for spectators.
The quality of the riding and the superb scenery, combined with a massive bike expo with food stands, live music and entertainment at the finish line make this the ultimate mountain bike marathon in Australia.
