The New Wildside Expedition Adventure Race

Australia’s newest expedition adventure race, Wildside Adventure Race, is set to hit the Mid North Coast of NSW, Australia in October (4 –12) this year.

The Wildside Adventure Race is about the journey - discovering that adventure is everywhere. It will take racers to the wilds. Teams will navigate through spaces rarely visited. They will encounter challenges as they traverse demanding landscapes in all weather conditions, day and night. This is expedition racing. Teams will have 120 hours to complete the journey, navigating from checkpoint to checkpoint by foot, mountain bike and kayak set against a magnificent backdrop, where they will be a part of nature.

Race organisers Fully Rad Adventures are no stranger to adventure racing having competed in short course through to multi day races across Australia and New Zealand.
“We really love the outdoors and adventure racing” Race Director, Richard Old, “ We saw a need for a middle distance race in the Australian racing calendar plus we really want more people to get into adventure racing.”

Teams will use map, compass together with their own wits and skills to navigate their way over an unmarked route by mountain biking, rafting, paddling, trekking, orienteering, trail running, and maybe a few other surprises through the majestic Mid North Coast of NSW. They will have to problem solve, route find and persevere over a true wild expedition course that will reset boundaries and provide a life changing experience! 

“This race will have everything - epic trek legs, demanding mountain biking ranging from flowing single track to rugged back country tracks, exposed ropes, white water and scenic paddle legs. The course is rich in history and will connect with some of the friendliest places in the region.”

Based in the township of Forster in the northern area of the Great Lakes this part of Australia is no stranger to adventure racing hosting a variety of multisport, paddling, open water swimming and mountain biking events. With spectacular water ways, beautiful coastline as well as acres of national park and state forest this place is the home of adventure.
