The 2015 Bike Buller MTB Festival Presented by Orbea Has Been Supersized

Mountain bikers across Australia will be salivating when they see the schedule of events for this year’s Bike Buller MTB Festival presented by Orbea, at Mt Buller Victoria, 7-9 March 2015.
The 2015 edition of this unique event, now in its seventh year, has been supersized with new gravity races, more events and a bigger party scene to create one massive MTB weekend in the Victorian Alps.
There are now 14 different MTB events (plus one trail run!) on offer, including gravity enduro, downhill, cross country, Super-D, all-mountain, pump track and dual slalom. Add in a full social calendar with spectator events, MTB movies, bike expo, kids rides and a huge food, wine and music festival and this is the ultimate biking weekend.
Event organiser, Rapid Ascent, is expecting attendance numbers to be even higher this year given the bumper event program.
“We’ve upped the ante to create an even more exciting line up of events this year so mountain bikers from all backgrounds can congregate at the one event for a massive biking weekend,” said Sam Maffett, General Manager Rapid Ascent.
“We’re also providing lots of great opportunities for kids and non-riders so that families coming up for the weekend will have plenty to do and will really feel part of the event atmosphere,” he said.
The Bike Buller MTB Festival also has a new – and very excited - presenting partner, Orbea. Orbea is a Spanish bicycle manufacturer whose bikes are extremely popular throughout Europe.
Orbea has an impressive pedigree of champions who have ridden and won on Orbea over the years including the current women’s World Champion, Catharine Pendrel who won the world title on a 27.5 Oiz as well as the 2012 Commonwealth Gold medal on an Alma; success speaks for itself.
Orbea is keen revitalise its brand in Australia and have a great range of mountain bikes that are well-suited to the Mt Buller terrain and varying styles of this event.
The Bike Buller MTB Festival presented by Orbea provides the ultimate test for mountain bike riders, and is set to challenge participants once again with a number of thrilling races over the three days. Riders are able to enter just one event OR enter the multitude of races that suit their riding style.
The Festival is regarded by many as one of Australia’s most highly anticipated annual MTB events. Overall, the event provides eager mountain bike riders and their families with a massive weekend of bikes, single track, fresh air and partying at an internationally renowned mountain bike destination - Mt Buller.
Director of Marketing, Sales and Business Development for Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management, Amber Gardner, is looking forward to the return of the popular event.

The three-day celebration of mountain biking will again coincide with the popular ‘Picnic in the Park’ food, wine and music festival held in the Mirimbah Park at the base of Mt Buller. There will also be a Bike Expo and plenty for non-riders to enjoy, including a range of exciting activities available on and around Mt Buller to suit all ages and interests.
