Ribblesdale Land Rover presents: A Film By Summit Fever Media

The Official Montane Spine Race Film 2015

Local filmmakers Summit Fever Media have teamed up with local, Settle based dealership Ribblesdale Land Rover to bring to the screen the Story of a Great British Adventure. In January 2015 100 athletes will be standing on the start line in Edale, Peak District about to embark on, The Montane Spine Race, an endurance race of epic proportions. They have 7 days to race to Scotland, and the entire 268 miles of the Pennine Way, in Winter, self­supported and non­stop.

The Montane Spine Race Film will follow the progress of the athletes as they get to grips mentally and physically with The Spine Race 2015, as they learn to cope with sleep deprivation, the threat of hypothermia, the highs and lows, experience the incredible & unique camaraderie, the relationships that develop and the life changing experience, which is The Spine Race. You don't need to travel thousands of miles for adventure, we have one of the world's most extreme and beautiful challenges on our doorstep. Summit Fever Media will be filming this documentary with the full support of the race directors & extreme adventurers Scott Gilmour and Phil Hayday­Brown.

The film has been funded via CrowdFunding website IndieGoGo. The film has received 168% of it’s target funding, smashing the target within 3 days of going live! There are still 6 days to go until funding officially closes.

With the support of Ribblesdale Land Rover and the rugged capability of the Land Rover Defender the team can now access areas of the course that were previously off limits and bring to the screen an intimate portrayal of the Pennine Way on it’s 50th anniversary and the spirit of endurance that is The Montane Spine Race.

The Montane Spine Race Film & Summit Fever Media are pleased to be sponsored by leading British outdoor clothing and equipment brand Montane®, who are the main sponsor of the race and will be providing the filming team with Montane gear to protect them from the harsh conditions they are likely to face. 

Petzl have also agreed to sponsor Summit Fever Media and have provided the team with brand new, sleek Nao headtorches with reactive lighting & rewards for the crowdfunding page. 

Specialist independent outdoor retailer Castleberg Outdoors are sponsoring the Summit Fever Media team with additional clothing. Based in Settle, Castleberg Outdoors offer specialist kit with the expert staff to match.

PNY technologies have come onboard and will be providing Summit Fever Media with the all important memory cards and hard drives.
