Bonaqua Action Sprint Sai Kung Coming on 8th March

Pulling up the ropes set up on the waterfalls, scrambling over the slippery rocks and climbing through the gorge, you can only find this one of a kind experience in Bonaqua Action Sprint Sai Kung. Be careful that you might get burning legs and slip or even fall on your face if you don't have full concentration to finish the 13 km adventure run. The 2015 edition of the Bonaqua Action Sprint kicks off on the 8th of March with the first race of the Bonaqua Action Sprint series held in Sai Kung, followed by the second race in Repulse Bay on April the 12th and the last race of the series in Discovery Bay on April the 26th. Over the 3 races participants get to fight it out to be the Bonaqua Action Sprint series champion.

"Certainly Bonaqua Action Sprint Sai Kung race makes me feel energetic and it motivates our team to train harder. In fact, I am pretty confident of my physical condition. Let's hope we all have a good game. Bonaqua Action Sprint Sai Kung is a very technical course shaped as the letter ‘M' but it is a good idea to save your energy for the final decent onto the road which can really make a difference in the final results.", said Santosh Tamang, from Team Nepal, also the overall 2nd in Bonaqua Action Sprint Sai Kung last year giving some useful tips for runners. 

Local runner Roger Cheung is also looking forward to competing in Bonaqua Action Sprint Sai Kung. "It's quite exhausting to run when the weather turns hot and humid, yet I still train a lot these days and look for different races. Bonaqua Action Sprint exactly fits the description: it is fun, challenging and extraordinary. I love it and hope to see you in the race." said Cheung who grabbed the overall second runner up in the previous year. Let's see if he can break his personal record this year.

"Coordination movement and interval training are extremely important for Bonaqua Action Sprint race. I have been training by doing uphill intervals, technical runs on trails, road running and rock scrambling to prepare for the race. Sometimes, I pre-train and check the race course before the race day. My personal goal is to finish in the overall top 5 for each race of the series!", said Jeremy Leung who finished 4th overall in the Bonaqua Action Sprint Sai Kung 2014 race, expressed his determination and shared his preparation on Bonaqua Action Sprint - Sai Kung. 

In this first race of Bonaqua Action Sprint 2015 will be in Sai Kung. The race starts at the BBQ picnic area on Tai Mong Tsai Road at Pak Tam Chung by the entrance gate and continues along the Mong Tsai Road up the main road to the High Island reservoir, participants will turn left on the trail up to Tai Cham Koi (408m), down the other side to the Lok Wu hiking trail, right turn on the Lok Wu hiking trail and follow for 2km to the midpoint of the Lok Wu Gorge and then turn right into the gorge. Ropes will be attached to the steep sections of the gorge or you can chose to go through the trail in the trees. Finally runners will return back to the Lok Wu hiking trail and the finish line is in the same direction as the start. During the race participants will be able to see the beautiful mountain scenery of Sai Kung and visit locations that visitors don't usually get to see.
