Huairasinchi Travels to Colombia

The beautiful natural setting of the Cauca Valley will be the backdrop for one of the world’s most difficult sports, adventure racing. HUAIRASINCHI Colombia 2016 is an event that is part of the international Adventure Racing World Series, whose member events are held all over the world.
During four days, the mixed-gender, four-person teams will face challenges as they cross jungle, sea, beaches, rivers, and mountains while competing in disciplines of trekking, mountain biking, kayaking, and rappel, all while only using a map and compass to navigate.
In total 25 teams will participate in the 13th edition of HUAIRASINCHI; 7 are Ecuadorians, 17 are from host country Colombia, and 1 team will be traveling from Brazil, and there are also racers from Finland, Uruguay, and Spain in some teams.
Among the Ecuadorian teams, Movistar Ecuador will be present, a team that placed third in the Adventure Racing World Championships held in 2014 and hosted by HUAIRASINCHI. Other strong teams include Fedeme and Fairis, who are currently also competing for the first place in the national “El Reto” Adventure Championship in Ecuador that will be held on October 15.
The HUAIRASINCHI Colombia 2016 race will cover around 250 miles over the course of four days. Teams will race nonstop from the starting line to the finish line in Cali. The race organizations ARWS Colombia and Proyecto Aventura Ecuador are all ready to receive the national and international racers next week.
HUAIRASINCHI will be held in Colombia during the even numbered years and in Ecuador during the odd numbered years, maintaining its classical format with a nonstop Elite AR World Series category.
