2005 SWEATSHOP ADVENTURE RACE SERIES
Rob Howard / 20.06.2005
'Minley Mayhem', the first event in this year's one-day Sweatshop AR Series, organised by TrailPlus, looks set to have an excellent field with over 70 teams of three expected to line up.And for this year, Race Director Paul Magner, has opted for a small cerebral test to get things underway. Yes, racers are going to start by thinking!
' With a Sunday 10.00am start we thought we would ease competitors into things with an initial mental test that will allow the quick-thinking teams to earn a few minutes advantage over the rest of the field,' Magner commented.
The exact detail of this test, and the running order of activities and other special challenges will not be revealed until the morning of the event, which takes place from Gibraltar Barracks and uses the beautiful Minley Manor and Hawley Lake areas for much of the event.
The event involves biking, running and canoeing but no navigation ... or at least none is intended by organisers TrailPlus!
And SleepMonsters will be there to cover all the action and take lots of pictures ... including shots of those puzzled faces at the start!
Entries are still being taken and you can find full details on www.trailplus.com or by calling 01457 855425.
