South America's foremost endurance racers, Team Uruguay Ultra Sports, are now ready for One Water Race, the world's toughest endurance race, taking place from 23-25th August 2022.

Team No 5, Uruguay/Brazil is a team with multiple adventure racing championship titles and strong individuals and with impressive experience in all disciplines. The team will bring a spirit of dedication and high performance that will put real pressure on the competition in One Water Race 2022.

The first official One Water Race is a new concept that strives to establish the world's toughest endurance race. The racers will face one of humanity's toughest challenges, over land and sea, racing 250km through the Stockholm Archipelago in Sweden.  It’s a new era in endurance racing and climate activation - all for the benefit of our world waters.

“We are proud to have Team Uruguay Ultra Sports in the race.  It is a confirmation of One Water Race and the global commitment to our world waters.  It’s an impressive team with great experience and I am really looking forward to seeing how they will handle the challenges in the Stockholm archipelago,” said race organiser Thomas Ogander.

One Water Race is adapted for a maximum of 10 teams, each team consists of 3 racers and a team captain, with both sexes needing to be represented and be out on the course the entire time. One Water Race wants to reward the racers for the extreme effort required with one of the highest prize money purses in endurance racing, $ 100,000.

Uruguay Ultra Sports has impressive merits from Eco-Challenge and the Adventure Racing World Championship and for several years were ranked as No 1 in the Latin American Adventure Race  Rankings.

“We like to explore our limits, and in One Water Race we believe that we are going to find some new frontiers, facing the best teams in the world in an unprecedented expedition. Our goal is to train very hard to feel comfortable in the race, make few mistakes, manage them in the best possible way and come out of this challenge better than when we started.  If that happens, we can be among the best,” said Ruben Manduré.

The team comprises;

Ruben Manduré, 56, Atlántida, Uruguay

Federica Frontini, 43, Atlántida, Uruguay

Guillermo Nantes, 46, Montevideo, Uruguay

Thiago Bonini, 37, Sao Paolo, Brazil
