Teton Ogre 24hr Adventure Race
A Wild And Rugged Adventure Through The Wydaho Area Of The Rocky Mountains
Press Release / 02.06.2022
The Teton Ogre Adventure Race taking place June 25-26, 2022, will once again take its racers on a wild and rugged adventure through the Wydaho area of the Rocky Mountains.
This year’s 24-hour race will be based out of Driggs, Idaho, the gateway to Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park. There will also be an 8-hour race option. Both races will feature running/trekking and mountain biking, with paddling also included in the 24-hour race. Racers will travel through an unmarked course requiring map-and-compass navigation. With the Tetons as a backdrop, the Teton Ogre is guaranteed to challenge even the toughest ogres, from beginners to experts.
Held since 2014, the Teton Ogre Adventure Race has been named a 2022 U.S. Adventure Racing Association Regional Championship, meaning the first placed mixed-gender team will earn a free entry to the USARA National Championship in California on September 17-18, 2022.
“Teton Valley offers stunning views, awesome trails, and unique terrain that will challenge the toughest adventurers,” Teton Ogre Race Directors Abby Broughton and Jason Popilsky said. “As racers ourselves, we pour our hearts into creating a quality course and a great experience for beginners and expert racers alike.”
Both Popilsky and Brougton are former USARA national champions themselves and have raced at the highest level internationally, including multiple overall wins in the Adventure Racing World Series.
The Teton Ogre Adventure Race is also part of the Rocky Mountain Adventure Series, a race series aimed at bringing more people into the sport of adventure racing and promoting all of the races in the Rocky Mountain region. Teams that race multiple RMAS events accumulate points that can win them the championship title and a cash prize at the end of the racing season.
Registration for the race closes on June 11, though racers must register by June 5 to receive a race t-shirt.
