Czech Adventure Race – 20 years of AR in Czechia

The end of August is the regular time for the Czech Adventure Race. This year is no exception and the race starts the 24th of August in the west of the Czech Republic near Karlovy Vary.

What is exceptional is that this is the 20th anniversary of this race.

The route is special this year as it has a lot of paddling – 68 km in 3 stages on the same river. Add 220 km of biking, 80 km trekking (in 3 stages each) and spice this with 2 via ferratas, rock climbing and an abseil.

The race is tempting for many teams for its price (800-1200 EUR/team) and it attracts teams who want to start with AR,  but we can see many skilled teams on the start list who come back to CZAR many times. The reason is that the route is situated into beautiful nature every time and teams feel supported by from the organising crew.

On Friday 25th the Czech MINI AR starts.  This is the shorter version for two member teams (18 hours). Teams from both races have to be back on time for beer relay on Saturday evening.
