Primal Quest\'s New Direction
Rob Howard / 06.09.2005
Rich Brazeau took on the role of CE0 for Primal Quest earlier this year and since then the race has been in the news with key staff appointments and promises of a spectacular return to the race circuit in 2006.SleepMonsters asked the man behind the new direction of PQ about his plans.
Primal Quest is back on the international race calendar after missing a year. As the new CEO have you been surprised at the enthusiasm for it’s return?
I’m exceptionally pleased to see that the racing community has embraced the return of PQ and our new direction to bring back the true expedition-style racing format. Racers have been searching for the traditional, authentic expedition and this is what 2006 will certainly deliver. It will be a sensory overload.
Recently there have many new appointments to the Primal Quest staff, including Don Mann and John Howard. What strengths do you think these two key personnel will bring to the race?
A great deal of the positive response for the future of Primal Quest is a result of our staffing additions. In order to accomplish our goals and re-focus our event for long terms success, we need the best, most experienced people on our team. Don Mann has organized more multi-day adventure races than anyone in the world and has a proven process for course management. John Howard’s resume speaks for itself and his passion for the sport still burns strong. Together, Don, John and their team have devised the most amazing and difficult 10-day race anyone has ever seen.
