Tragic Accident in Ontario

We regret to inform you that Harry Beck, husband, father, businessman and adventure racer was fatally injured on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at 8 pm.Harry, 39 years old, from Beachburg Ontario, was riding third in a pace line while training with his friends/team mates of Team Canusa, when he was struck from behind by a vehicle.
Harry has raced in numerous Salomon Adventure Challenges since 2002 and his team was training for the Raid the North Canadian Championships on September 22 to 25, 2005. This would have been his first multi-day race but for his untimely passing.
On behalf of SleepMonsters.ca and the adventure racing community, we extend our condolences to Harry’s wife, his two children, team mates, friends and family for their sudden and tragic loss.
