Where Do You Want Your Questars?

After their last race of the season in the New Forest Questars announced their series winners, 4 provisional dates for next year ... and asked their competitors for suggestions on where they’d like to see the races held!

It’s been a good year for Team Questars, finishing with 340 competitors in their last race, which they closed for entries 3 weeks before race day. “We’ve had the same number of competitors in 4 races this year, as we did in 8 races last year,” said Course Director David Hunt. “It’s been particularly pleasing to see to see novices coming back and gaining in experience, and bring along friends they’ve introduced to the sport to form teams. This year I’ve enjoyed competing in races in other series as well, and I think at present we have a good mix of races in the UK, all offering something a little different.”

This year Questars introduced cash prizes for the overall series winners, and these were given out after the final race. Julian Carter was the highest scorer in the Trio category with 2445 points and won £200, Jonathan Ellis was second winning £100 and Jerry King won £50 for third place. It wasn’t surprising that the male solos scored more highly than the other categories, but Teresa King and Phillipa Richards did particularly well to finish just behind them in 4th place overall. In the Questars Duo category Andy Lee was the overall winner.

Questars have already announced provisional dates for next year (1 April, 27 May, 8 July, 16 September), and have been looking for feedback from this year’s competitors, including asking where they’d like to see the races held. Their post-race questionnaire had some suggestions, but anyone who is thinking of racing with them next year can have their say on the Questars forum on this site. If there is a great venue you know has never been used now is the time to speak up!
