Expect the Unexpected in first Tomb Raider race
Mountain Extreme, the UAE’s leading eco-tourism adventure company, has announced tthe first multi-sport eco-adventure race series in the region.

In an announcement in Ras Al Khaimah, John Falchetto, founder of Mountain Extreme, said the first race of the Arabian Quest Race Series would take place on November 4, 2005.

\"The mixture of mountain biking, trekking, and surprise challenges will keep the contestants on their toes. Meanwhile, we have worked hard to create two categories in order to accommodate beginners and seasoned adventure racers,\" said Falchetto. \"We are very excited that Ras Al Khaimah will host the first series ever, as it is truly a great location for adventure racing.\"

The first ever Adventure race series in the region, the Arabian Quest Race Series will feature three races during the winter and spring 2005, 2006. All the races will take place in the scenic mountains of Ras Al Khaimah and will see two-person teams traverse 40 kilometers of the emirates\' breathtaking terrain using only non-motorized forms of transportation such as mountain biking and hiking. Many checkpoints for this race will be held at the ancient tombs that dot the Ras Al Khaimah landscape.

Contestants should expect surprise challenges. “This race will not only be about brawn, but also brain and skills,” added Falchetto.

Arabian Quest Race Series is the UAE’s first Eco-Adventure Race, attracting the best expedition athletes from around the region. The race also includes a strong environmental message. Mountain Extreme has joined forces with the World Wide Fund for Nature to raise awareness and funds for projects in the UAE.
