News release / 04.11.2005
Team Holofiber is set and ready to go to the Adventure Racing World Championships in New Zealand! The five day race will prove to be the most competitive and grueling race of the year for the four person team Canadian Team who qualified for the race by winning the Africa Quest earlier this year in South Africa. The team
For the 2005 ARWC, Team Holofiber is captained by Lawrence Foster (Sault Ste. Marie ON), designer and manager of the 2004 World Championships in Newfoundland, Canada, and has members Chad Ulansky (Kelowna, BC), Sia Svendson (Currently living in New Zealand), and back from retirement Dave Zietsma (Toronto, ON). The team will be supported by Andrew Love (Australia), Nicola Cameron (Ottawa, ON), and Shannon Thompson (Kelowna, BC).
Since 1998 the mainly Canadian team has dominated Adventure Racing in Canada and has represented their country around the world by always finishing in the top 10 with a recent 3rd at the Subaru Primal Quest. The team has won other world qualifiers such as Beast of the East 2001 which gave the team an entry to the 2001 ARWC in Switzerland. Their wins at Appalachian Extreme in 2002, and 2003 did not result in an entry due to a hiatus in the ARWC in 2003 and Lawrence Foster being the Course Designer in 2004.
