After taking out the innaugural RedYeti race in Adelaide Andrew Fellows and Linton Burns from Team Aussie Bodies are venturing off shore in a couple of weeks.
Where to exactly!, Oman, sitting on the gulf of oman and the arabian sea and with its neigbours being UAE, Saudi Arabia and Yemen, this event will certainly test the lads from Qld, excess baggage shouldnt be an issue as the race only allows 1 bike between the 2 competitors, below is the offical release and overview of the race..

The Bike and Run is a race between teams of two competitors having one bicycle between them. The strategy of the participants, their team spirit and complementarity is what will let them cover the very rough terrain of stages varying from 45 to 65 km in record time.

The scene for these exploits is the Sultanate of Oman, which has all the ingredients to inspire adventure sports enthusiasts: a rich natural environment with mountains rising to over 3000 metres, coasts with alternating cliffs and beaches of fine sand as well as the geological curiosities that make up the unique, grandiose landscapes.

In these surroundings, the competitors meet the population whose hospitality is still as generous as it has been for centuries. The Sultanate of Oman is a very special country, with a strong personality. It can not be compared with any other, near or far.

Launched for the first time last August, Oman Adventure immediately roused great interest and there will be 30 teams at the start this year. The immediate success of the event shows that it provides all the discovery, escape and athletic achievement so desired by outdoor athletes and women, more and more of whom compete in both running and mountain-biking events, and who want to push themselves to the limit.
