Bimbache Extreme Joins World Series

The fourth edition of the Bimbache Extrem Adventure Race will be held in AndalucÃa, Spain, from March 20th to 25th 2006, and for the first time the race is included in the Adventure Race World Series.The start will be in Córdoba on the 22nd of March and teams are expected to cross the finish line three days and 400 km later, somewhere in the province of Málaga.
Previous races have involved all the best teams in the world, including Nike Balance Bar (USA), Nokia Adventure (Finland), Montrail (Australia-USA), Cross Sportwear (Sweden) and Buff-Nike International (Spain). This year for the first time the organsers will stage an hour long spectacular prologue in magnificent Downtown Seville, the day before the race starts.
The competition is visiting the most exotic and charming places in AndalucÃa: mountains, rivers, valleys and cliffs… which will be the ideal setting for the best long distance adventure race in Spain and one of the most important on next year’s international calendar.
Disciplines this year will be:
· Orienteering
· Running and trekking
· Mountain Biking
· River and Sea Kayaking
· Canyoneering
· Rappel and Tyrolean Traverse
· In-line Skating
· Via Ferrata
The entry fee is 1.800 Euros up to February 1st, and 2400 Euros after that date. Teams interested in competing would do well to enter earl as maximum numbers are limited to 30, and will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
The entry fee includes race assistance for all teams, two hotel nights before the race and one more after and transfers from and to the Seville airport.
A total of 20.000 Euro will be given in prizes and the winning team will automatically earn the right to take part in the Adventure Race World Championship, to be held in Sweden in August.
