BAAR Brawl Update
Gordon Wright / 06.01.2006
Hi, folks - just a quick update. The Brawl is shaping up nicely; people are puzzling over the SF start, much of the course has been laid out, and we've already had our deluge for the winter.
Some have asked, quite reasonably, if severe weather will shorten the course.
The answer is, "Naw."
If anyone gets around the course during the kind of storm we just had, well, they should enter Primal Quest. Now, our paddling outfitter may have some issues in a big storm, but we'll address that as it arises.
Also, the communications are a bit funny this year - lots of different teams shifting and sliding around, several points of contacts for a few different teams. Which isn't a big problem, but if you could select one point of contact from here on out, that'd be gre! at because let's face it - its a miracle we keep any of this straight at all.
A big shout out goes to Bob Gehlen and his teammate, as well as the unmatched Ralph Pilley, who are doing yeoman's work pre-running some segments, setting CPs and time-trialing.
Other than that, we're up around 50 entrants, a good number. That leaves maybe a few spots still available, but as before, please don't go shouting it around to big groups of other nuts.
