Back for Reunion Adventures

Rob Howard / 19.01.2006
The fourth "Réunion d'Aventures", organised by Gerard Fusil, will be held from 13th to 20th May this year, once again providing competitors the chance to explore the volcanic Indian Ocean island of Réunion.

This year's event will once again be extremely varied, making the most of all the island has to offer, and offering courses to match the contestants' different levels of ability.

The activities will include trekking/orienteering with extreme height gains on the islands steep cirques, mountain biking, FMS (Fins, mask and snorkel) swimming, apnea (holding your breath and diving), canyoneering, mountain climbing (only for competitors in the Extreme category), vertical rope techniques, and the run and rollerblade option, which means that if you wish, you can do the whole course on foot, on rollerblades, or a bit of both!

The concept remains the same: a 6 to 7-day course for the Adventure category with extra challenges for contestants in the Extreme category. Shorter courses will be offered for teams in the Discovery category and everyone must stop during the hours of darkness for security reasons.

The registration fees remain unchanged from last year at 3,000 euros (excl. VAT) per team and there will be flight deals from Paris, including bike transport. For those who want to try Fusil’s other race the ‘Oman Adventure’ bike & run, there will also be 50% off the entry fee for those who raced in Reunion.
