Entries Open for Planet Adventure and New Indiana State Series

Rob Howard / 23.01.2006
Now in it’s sixth year the Planet Adventure 24 hour race is one of the longest running events in North America, and they’ve just opened registration, added a new masters class, and helped create a new Indiana State Championship.

This year's race moves to a brand new, exciting location at Coryden in Southern Indiana where courses will cover 90 to 100 miles of varying terrain, and will challenge racers in trail running/ trekking, navigation, paddling, mountain biking and maybe climbing/rappelling.

There are 80 places available for 3 person or 4 person co-ed teams, and there’s also a new Masters division for 3 person co-ed teams with a combined age of 120 and a minimum age of 35 for any one team member.

Entries are now open on the race website and the fee is $150 up to February 25th (and $180 after). For those entering before the 25th there is also a prize draw to get a refund on the entry. This will be drawn on Monday the 27th.

The Planet Adventure races have also teamed up with other Indiana Adventure races to form the new Indiana State AR Championship Series. The following 6 races make up this series:

- Feb 25-26 24 Hours On The Move V
- Apr 8-9 Planet Adventure 24-Hour Challenge
- May 27 MISSION Adventure Race
- June 10 Planet Adventure Sprint
- Aug 12 Planet Adventure Urban Sprint
- Sep 9 Indianapolis Adventure Race

The series will ranked on the best 4 scores, from 2 long and 2 short races, with the same two team members having to compete in all races to score. (They can race in 3 or 4 person teams.)

More information on the new series can be found here.
