AR Safety Guidelines and Environmental Charter

The Canadian Adventure Racing Association (CARA) www.canadianara.com has put together the most comprehensive set of safety standards and a detailed environmental charter for the sport of adventure racing in Canada. With countless drafts and input from experts from all areas, the documents have taken approximately two years to consolidate.

It has taken a unique environment of co-operation amongst stakeholders in Canada for this to be achieved.

They will always be a "work in progress", but they are an excellent resource for existing race directors and for those contemplating putting on their first race. Racers, also take on accountability in our sport for remaining safe and minimizing their environmental impact, and these documents work well in providing them with guidance.

Thanks must go out to all the time and energy individuals and organizations put in to these documents, and for the proactive stance the sport has taken in Canada.
