The prize package at the Speight’s Coast to Coast 2006 is valued at $127,000, the largest prize package for a multi-sport race in New Zealand, up from $95,000 last year.Spread across 132 prize winner packages, there are Thule roof racks, Thermatech clothing, Vasque mountain running shoes, Polar Sports instruments, Forrest Estate wine, Cobra kayaks, Body 02 training courses, Excelite reflective belts, Inter Islander travel, Speight’s and $20,000 in cash for the winners of the men’s and women’s sections of the One Day Event.
Robin Judkins, race director of the Speight’s Coast to Coast, said about the prize pool, “It is great that we can offer such a significant prize pool. The Speight’s Coast to Coast is the premier multi-sport event in New Zealand so it is fitting that we offer the most significant prize package.â€

There is also $50,000 worth of products included in the race packs. Every competitor who enters the event receives a race pack. The race packs include a Thermatech shirt, race bib, hat, Moro bars and Speight’s beer.
