Olympians, Footballers, Celebrities and Joe Public lining up for Anaconda Adventure Race Geographe Bay

The Anaconda Adventure Race team led by world champion adventure racer John Jacoby, will bring their successful 1 day relay teams & elite individual format to Geographe Bay on Sunday, September 24, 2006.

In a celebration of off-road sports that will showcase some of the Region’s natural treasures, competitors will swim, run, mountain bike and kayak their way over some spectacular coastline in and around the Leuuwin Ridge, before finishing at Sculpture Park at Dunsborough.

As a sport that appeals equally to Surf Ironmen, Triathletes and Adventure Racers, the Geographe Bay race will see surf ironman stars like Guy Andrews facing off against triathlete supremo Peter Robertston and adventure racing stars like Jody Zerbst. The race will also draw athletes from a range of other sports, such as basketball legend Luc Longley, who will be competing in a relay team with the objective of having maximum fun. Average people of every age and shape will make up the majority of the field in the relay teams category, with the youngest competitor at 13 years of age and the eldest nudging 70. A Corporate Teams category will also see up to 100 WA companies vying for the title of Corporate Adventure Race Champions.
