Application For the 2006 World Championships is Open

The 2006 ARWorld Championships will be held in Sweden and Norway in August, and an impressive new website for the race is now up and running, including a facility for teams to register online.

The race, which is being hosted by Explore Sweden and organized by Michael Nordstrom and Helena Lind, promises to be one of the highlights of the year. The 800km course through Lapland will give 40 teams the chance to explore the mountains and fjords in the Land of the Midnight Sun as they compete for the World title.

Some teams have already qualified, and others will get priority entry through the ARWorld Series qualification criteria, with any remaining places available on application. All teams wanting to take part need to register through the appropriate page on the website and take one of two race packages on offer, one including flights within Sweden and one without.

The packages include hotel apartments for the teams, which are booked at the venue at Hemavan for the whole period of the race (so no worries about finding a bed if you should have to pull out), gear transport to and from Stockholm, transfers, meals before and after the race, the race banquet, kayaks for the race, and even spa and rehabilitation afterwards. All logistics during the race are also covered as it is unsupported. The organizers are determined to make the trip to Sweden as smooth and hassle free as possible for all the visiting teams, so they can concentrate on enjoying the race.
