X adventure, The Raid World Cup

For the third year running, Australia’s greatest state will provide towering forests, rugged sea cliffs and windswept granite headlands as the context for an epic struggle between local talent, the likes of MELBOURNE ADVENTURE-WILDERNESS WEAR and PB SPORTS, and intrepid challengers including the UK´s SAAB SALOMON and SPORT 2000-LAFUMA from France.

Australia is blessed with a wealth of endurance athletes but rare are the opportunities for teams habituated to racing in domestic or regional competitions to go head to head with the cream of the international adventure-racing circuit, especially on home soil. Tactically, this antipodal clash and traditional season opener has proved priceless to visitors and locals alike in providing a potential points windfall and an ideal springboard from which to mount their season’s challenge for a zone qualifying spot.

For teams from the Oceanian Zone, this year’s race promises even greater dividends with 6 qualifying places available, that’s 2 more than last year. With many teams racing on a one-off basis, this race across the outdoor wonderland of the Cape Naturaliste National Park will become a must show for any team serious about qualifying for The Raid World Championship 2006. A number of spots are still available and it isn’t too late to sign up for what could be your team´s decisive and most effective appearance ever on the adventure racing world stage.
