The Yeti Goes Underground
SleepMonsters Australia / 27.03.2006
Competitors in the May Midnight Assault will find themselves heading into the subterrainean world in search of their checkpoints. The town of Portland Victoria will host the event on May 12th to 14th with teams of 4, mixed, all male and all female trekking, MTBing, roping, kayaking and now caving on and under the countryside surrounding the town.
Angus Ross told us “The area has so much scope for adventure racers†with some great spots within easy reach of Race HQ such as Lower Glenelg National Park, Princess Margaret Rose Caves and Cape Nelson National Park.
Portland also has numerous important historical sites as it was the first permanent settlement in Victoria founded by the Henty Brothers in 1834 (for the history Buffs) and is now a major industrial and commercial centre for the region as well as being a hugely popular summer resort.
Keeping in mind where competitors could be heading, the guys from Vicious Power Lighting systems will have 4 sets of their LED system being demoed by 4 randomly selected teams as well as there being 1 set up for graps on the prize table along with many other great prizes.
Due to the nature of the race entry spots are limited so get in quick, rego closes on the 28th of April
